ZAFARI jewelry is created across a considered mix of metals and finishes. The material used depends on the design, so the product page should always be checked for the exact base metal, plating and finish of the piece you are viewing.
Our approach
Materials vary by design. Refer to each product page for the exact material, finish and measurements of a piece.
Sterling silver contains 92.5% silver and is valued for its clean tone and everyday versatility. It may naturally tarnish over time when exposed to air, moisture or chemicals. A silver polishing cloth can be used gently on unplated sterling silver only.
Gold vermeil pairs a sterling silver base with an 18K gold-plated finish. It offers the look of gold over a precious-metal base. As with all plated finishes, its appearance and longevity depend on wear, storage, skin chemistry and exposure to water, fragrance or chemicals.
Selected pieces use a brass base finished with 18K gold plating. This allows sculptural shapes and detailed textures to be created at an accessible price. To help preserve the finish, keep the piece dry and avoid contact with fragrance, lotions, cleaning products and household chemicals.
Some designs may use a silver-tone or silver-plated finish over a base metal. The exact construction is listed on the applicable product page. Treat these finishes gently and avoid abrasive polishing products.
Enamel adds color and graphic detail to selected designs. Avoid impact, scratching and prolonged contact with water or chemicals. Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear.
A mixed-metal design combines gold-tone and silver-tone color in one piece. It describes the visual combination, not a claim that the item is made from solid or recycled gold and silver. Check the product page for the exact construction.
